Trailer Time: THE LIMEY
With new Steven Soderbergh in theaters nationwide (CONTAGION!), let’s celebrate the guy before he supposedly clocks out and retires from the game by checking out one of his best trailers to one of his best movies.
THE LIMEY is considered underrated by its biggest fans, but I consider it one of the gateway films that really got me into Soderbergh along with OUT OF SIGHT shortly before.
I remember seeing this badass trailer, using The Who’s killer track “The Seeker” beautifully, on a random VHS movie and just knowing I was there as soon as it was available, which I think wasn’t until it hit DVD.
Interestingly enough, this was actually one of the first DVDs I ever watched, and it was on my PC’s DVD drive. If you haven’t heard the awkward commentary track between Soderbergh and Lem Dobbs, it’s a MUST for fans.
